FAQ
Which messengers are supported?
Any app that can share audio files: WhatsApp, Telegram, Signal, Facebook Messenger, Viber, and more. If it has a "Share" button for voice messages, it works with Writeit.
How accurate is the transcription?
On-device transcription works well for clear speech in supported languages. Cloud mode uses a more powerful AI model and delivers higher accuracy, especially for noisy audio or mixed languages.
Do I need internet?
No. On-device transcription works completely offline after a one-time model download (~60 MB). Cloud mode and AI summaries require an internet connection.
What's the difference between on-device and cloud?
On-device processing is instant, private, and works offline. Cloud processing sends your audio (anonymized) to EU servers for higher accuracy transcription and optional AI summaries.
What does the Optimize button do?
Optimize sends your transcription to the cloud AI to fix words that were obviously mis-heard and to add punctuation and paragraphs for readability — without changing the meaning. Because it uses the cloud, each Optimize counts as one of your monthly cloud summary/optimization credits.
Can I cancel my subscription?
Yes, at any time. Go to your Google Play Store or App Store subscription settings. You'll keep premium features until the end of your billing period.
